Experiments were carried out on rabbits anesthetized with chloralose andurethane.The animals were immobilized with gallamine triethiodide and main-rained by artificial ventilation.Ventricular extrasystoles were induced by electricalstimulation of the hypothalamus.Microinjection of morphine(4 μg in 2 μl)intothe locus coeruleus complex(Lc-Sc)decreased the number of hypothalamic stimu-lation-induced ventricular extrasystoles(HVEs),while microinjection of acetylcho-line(ACh)into the same area facilitated HVE.Facilitation of HVE by AChmicroinjection could be abolished by microinjection of propranolol(2 μg in 2 μl)into either the central grey(CG)of midbrain or the medial portion of medullaoblongata,but not by microinjection of phentolamine(10 μg in 1 μl)into thesame regions.Inhibition of HVE by electrical stimulation of deep peroneal nerve(DPN)was diminished by microinjection of either naloxone(4 μg in 2 μl)or ACh(50 μgin 2 μl)into Lc-Sc.Weak electrical stimulation of Lc-Sc had the same effect.After bilateral lesions of Lc-Sc,the inhibitory effect of DPN stimulation on HVEwas enhanced.The results obtained suggest the effects of morphine and ACh in the regionof Lc-Sc are antagonistic.Facilitation of HVE by microinjection of ACh intoLe-Se is probably mediated via CG and medial portion of the medulla.Thestructural integrity of Lc-Sc is not essential for the inhibition of HVE by DPN stimu-lation.However,activation of Lc-Sc exerts an inhibitory action upon the DPNstimulation-induced inhibition of HVE.

The way by which these effects of NRM stimulation were performed was discussed.

In this paper, the experimental set-up used for measuring the light output noise of a laser diode has been established. A weak electrical noise and light output noise can be measured by using the cross-spectrum approach. Experimental results obtained for 30 Vgroove InP/InGaAsP lasers at frequency region from 1 Hz to 100 kHz demonstrated that the light output noise and electrical noise is correlative in the superradiation region, and its spectrum form is also similar. According to the mechanism of light excitation in LD, the light output noise has been discussed. The theoritical analysis shows that the light output noise is separated into two parts, one caused by carriers fluctuation is full correlative with electrical noise, another caused by light quantum fluctuation is uncorrelative with electrical noise.
