High-density lipoprotein receptor plays a very important role in the mechanism of reverse transportation of cholesterol.To identify the molecular biology mechanism antiatherosclerosis effect of aerobic exercise,we use the technique of RT-PCR to study the effect of aerobic exercise on gene expression of high-density lipoprotein receptor,that is class B type I scavenger receptor (SR-BI), in ApoE-deficient mice.The results indicated that aerobic exercise inhibits the progress of atherosclerotic lesions is related with up-regulation of SR-BI mRNA in adrenal gland, ovary,testis,liver and artery tissues.SR-BI mRNA has been up regulated as a response to the reduction of cholesterol stores in exercise animals.These results imply that a mechanism of feedback is involved in the effect of aerobic exercise controlling expression of SR-BI mRNA.
