A species of Marshallagia from the sheep of Xinjiang Uigur Autonomous Region is described and considered as a new species,for which the name Marshallagia brevicauda is proposed. Host: ovis aries. The following are the chief diagnostic characters of this worm: Body filliform, yellowish when living, cuticle with fine transverse striations and about 51 longitudinal ridges.The cuticle of anterior end is slightly dilated.Cervical papillae situated at about the middle of oesophagus.Excretory pore opens on the ventral side between the nerve ring and cervical papillae.In the male a pair of prebursal papillae present. Male: Body 7 .581—9.624mm(8.759) in length and 0,147—0.278mm(0.222) in maximum width at prebursal region.Oesophagus 0.760—0.943mm(0.829) in length and 0.052—0.066mm(0.055) in maximum width.Anterior end to cervical papillae 0.312—0.412mm(0.357) and to nerve ring 0.271—0.334mm(0.326).Bursa well developed with distinct dorsal lobe, fine oblique striations on external surface and honeycomb-like patterns on internal surface. Bursal rays resemble to M.tarimanus Qi et Li, 1963,but dorsal ray slender,0.271—0.357mm (0.311) in length and bifurcated at the distal 1/5—1/4 into 2 branches with 0.057—0.098mm (0.072) in lengthy each of which giving rise to a longer externolateral branch at its middle or slight backs, and further subdivided onto 2 terminal twigs, the external twig longer than the internal one.Two spicules yellowish-brown in colour, equal in length and similar in shape weakly chitinized, 0.268—0.310mm(0.286) in length, 0.037—0.042mm(0.039) in maximum width before the bifurcation, and 0.007—0.008mm in thickness.They are trifurcated in the distal about 1/5 into dorsal, latero-ventral and medio-ventral branches.The latero-ventral branch 0.052—0.064mm in length, slightly longer than the dorsal or almost equal, gradually attenuated at the distal portion,and curved toward the ventral side, with a claw-like small twigs at the distal end and surrounded by a slipperlike transparent membrane in lateral view.Dorsal branch is the broadest and slightly shorter than latero-ventral or equal,0.049—0.074mm.(0.058) in length, it is folded lengthwise from inner to outer in double layer, plate-formed, weakly chitinized, and gradually narrowed toward the distal end, its tip is round and blunt, being curved up an arc form toward the dorsal side and slightly to the outer side.Medio-ventral 0.037—0.057mm(0.045) in length, shorter and much more slender than dorsal branch, thin plate-formed,relatively straight, and extended to the ventral side, its ending in sharp tip, and always curved in hook-shape towatd the dorsal side.The distal end of the whole spicule surrounded by a inflated transparent membrane. A weakly chitinized long seed-bottle form gubernaculum present,0.044mm in length, and 0.027--0.030mm in maximum width, its distal margin obviously chitinized,and shaped as the bottom of a seed-bottle. The mean ages at menarche and their standard deviation were: 14.37 ± 1.09 years for Kazak, 14.34 ± 1.41 years for Uigurs, 14.21 ± 1.05 years for Mongol, 13.89 ±1.32 years for Hui nationality, 13.78 ± 1.02 years for Sibo and 13.61...
