The electrostatic field of the Field Distortion Type Spark Gap (abb. FDG) used in 45 [KV], 200 [KJ] plasma focus device has been computed with the Charge Simulation Method. The mathematical model is presented and programmed in FORTRAN . The distribution of the field has been plotted. The influence of "r" (the radius at the tip of the trigger electrode) and "D" (the radial distance between the trigger electrode and the main electrodes) on the performances of the FDG has been discussed. As the working voltage is applied, the maximum field-strength in FDG at the triggering moment (E-max) is ranged from 188 to 380 [KV/cm] ; the ratio of field distortion at the surface with (E-max) from 3 to 13, at the tip of trigger electrode from 52 to 478; the operating voltage under triggering from 60% to 84%. In conclusion, with the size of small (r) and suitable (D). the FDG may have more favorable performance.

The discharge grows on and along the surface of the insulator and its developing velocity depends on the amplitude, width and polarity of the impulse, as well as on the pressure. Under the conditions of pressure range of 5-200 Torr, amplitude range of 6-15 KV, impulse duration of 5-80 us, the velocity of the discharge lies in the range of 107-2x109cm/s. It is noticed that the discharge sheath does not immediately turn into a plasma sheath with low resistance after the luminous sheath of the discharge bridges both the electrodes.

The steady dynamic structure is calculated.
