Based on this consideration, it takes full advantage of academic potential and superiority and actively serves the society with all its might. Our practice and experience shows that classic humanities can serve the society directly and produce fine social effects. In contemporary China, which is going through an economic transfromation, humanistic and social sciences in universities should, first of all, clarify their nature as sciences. To serve the society better, they should attach priority to prosper from top to bottom, protrude the emphases in discipline construction and resources investment to form relative superiority, and try to catch and utilize excellent opportunities to achieve maximal effects with minimal cost.
