The soluble oviducal proteins of B.temporaria chensinensis have been analysed by means of the SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis.Four major bands were found in the gel,which were very different from the case of B.nigromaculate and Bufo bufo asialius.The molecular weight of the four proteins was 170,157,128 and 49 thousands Dalton respectively.One of the major proteins(M.W.=128 thousands) accounts for 40 per cent of the total soluble proteins,and another protein(M.W.=49 thousands) accounts for 25 per cent,which suggests that these proteins may have their own specific functions.The variation was found in the content of the frog oviducal proteins during the periods before and after spawn.Since the weight of oviduct tissue was also decreased after spawn,it was suggested that the four major proteins might have some relation to the reproduction and may be a potential material for the studies of the gene expression regulation.In addition,the isoelectric point and immune precipitation reaction of these proteins were also determined.It was found that the antiserum resulting from the B.tem-poraria chensinensis oviducal proteins was failed to react with the oviducal proteins of B.nigtomaculate and Bufo bufo asialius.It is suggested that the oviducal proteins of different amphibia species might be heterogenic.

Fraction Ⅱ consisted of 237 amino acid residues and had a similar amino acid composition with human apoA-Ⅰ, being desig- nated as duck apoA-Ⅰ. Fraction Ⅲ has not been characterized yet in this paper.
