There were many intermediate types of leaf hairness, color of hull at heading and length of the first and second panicle internode, these Cheng's morphological traits were normal distribution, also, there were a little intermediate types in hull hairness and phenol reaction with bi peak distribution, and the ratios of length to width of grain were inclined to japonica types obviously and these traits showed a skewed distribution in F 2 population.
(2) Examining normal distribution of the soil nutrient. Soil available S and Cu presented normal distribution, OM presented close normal distribution, soil available N, P, K, Ca, Mg, Zn, Fe and Mn presented logarithmic normal distribution, while pH was skewed distribution.
The probability that such a skewed distribution occurs by chance is as small as 2.0%.
These data were selected for their distinct statistical characteristics with Fe presenting a negatively skewed distribution and, consequently, a low dispersion, and silica a positively skewed distribution and, therefore, a high variability.
Chromosome-doubled haploid lines (DHs) from the first generation (F1) had a skewed distribution towards higher gramine concentrations and so had the first back-cross generation (BC1F1-DHs).
It is hypothesized that the skewed distribution of PAs over the leaves of rosette plants reflects optimal defense distribution within the plant.
Forty-one butterflies reared individually on these plants contained a skewed distribution of cardenolide concentrations ranging from 231 to 515 μg/0.
