Results indicates that in high temperature,blood glucose,calcium,sodium,potassium,ascorbic acid,and thyroxine contents have significantly increased (P<0.01) as compared with those in the optical temperature. Serum alkali reserve contents have significantly decreased (P<0.05). Cortisol content has slightly increased.
The increased alkali reserve recorded subsequent to bicarbonate and citrate treatment reduced mean post-exercise acidosis, although pH was significantly higher only in the C condition (p>amp;lt;0.05) compared to P after each exercise bout.
The influence of the experimental treatment on alkali reserve and zero span tensile strength is relatively insignificant.
