Changes of the phosphate compounds and the incorporation of radioactive pho- sphate into various phosphorus-containing compounds in both developing and absciss- ing fruits of‘Tompkins King' apple were investigated in 1962--1964. It was found that in abscissing fruits, the contents of inorganic phosphates were higher, while those of organic phosphates were lower than in developing fruits. The activity of ATPase was also lower in abscissing than in developing ftuits. Experiments with P~(32)-labeled phosphate...

Changes of the phosphate compounds and the incorporation of radioactive pho- sphate into various phosphorus-containing compounds in both developing and absciss- ing fruits of‘Tompkins King' apple were investigated in 1962--1964. It was found that in abscissing fruits, the contents of inorganic phosphates were higher, while those of organic phosphates were lower than in developing fruits. The activity of ATPase was also lower in abscissing than in developing ftuits. Experiments with P~(32)-labeled phosphate indicated that the uptake of P~(32) by abscissing fruits was much less active than by developing fruits. There was more radioactivity in sugar-phosphates, high-energy nucleotides, phospholipids, nucleic acids and phosphoproteins in developing than in abscissing fruits. Similar results were ob- tained in fruit flesh and in seeds. The above results suggest that the shortage of food supply and the low level of phosphoryation in young fruit may cause suppression in fruit growth and alteration in normal metabolic pathway, which in turn may eventually bring about the senes- cence and abscission of the young fruits.

The results showed that the activities of growth-promoting substances were relatively high before the period of June drop ( at 2~4 weeks after petal-fall), i.e., periods of low fruit drop, in flesh and seeds.However, a marked decrease in promoting substances were observed in seeds, while a great quantity of inhibiting substances appeared in fruit flesh during period of June drop ( at 6~8 weeks after petal-fall), i.e., period of heavy fruit drop.Ringing and leaves removal showed that inhibiting substances appearing in flesh come from the leaves near the fruit.After the period of June drop ( at 10 weeks after petal-fall ) , i. e. , another period of low fruit drop, growth-promoting substances rose again in the seeds, but inhibiting substan-ces disppeared markedly and promoting substances appeared again in fruit flesh.on the basis of these and other observations, it is suggested that the fruit possesses an inherent tendency to separate from the spur at certain period, controlled by a certain balance between the levels of growth-promot-ing substances which are produced in the seeds and emanated into the flesh and growth-inhibiting substances which are synthesized in the leaves at seao-son and emanated into the flesh.According to the behaviour of paper chr-matography, the inhibiting substances relating to June drop of apple fruit do not belong to ABA type.

作者用‘金星’(Tompkin's King)苹果为材料,于六月落果前后及六月落果期间,定期采样,分别从果肉和种子内提取酸性乙醚溶解物质,并用小麦胚芽鞘切段垂直生长法测定其活性。结果表明,在苹果六月落果期间,除种子内生长促进物质活性明显降低外,果肉中生长抑制物质的累积,与果实生理脱落表现出明显的平行关系。全部实验结果认为:苹果果实脱落是由于一定发育阶段上的种子产生生长促进物质的能力处于低峰期时,向果肉内输入的生长促进物质减少,在量上不足以拮抗由果旁叶在一定季节内向果肉中输入的与脱落相关的生长抑制物质所致。

The results showed that Bai-lan melons harvested in 46 days after anth-esis reached respiratory climacteric in 6 days after harvest in normal atmospheric temperature. The corruptible cause of Bai-Lan melons was discussed.

本文对白兰瓜成熟及贮藏期间呼吸规律及内源激素(脱落酸ABA与乙烯)的变化作了测定。结果表明,花后46天采收的白兰瓜,在室温(25~28℃)下第6天进入呼吸高峰期。果肉从花后41天出现ABA,其含量随成熟与衰老而增加。种子在成熟以后出现ABA,随贮藏期的延续而消失。内源乙烯从花后41天时开始微量出现,采后第5~6天达到高峰,11天时降至低水平,到21天又略有回升,以后迅速减少直至消失。本文对白兰瓜易腐烂变质的原因,也进行了讨论。
