In the width fluctuation correction calculation of compound nuclear reaction,wehave made a unified treatment of the reaction processes of particle emission,gammaemission and fission processes,in which the residual nuclei can be in discrete states orin the continuum.The calculated results of inelastic cross sections and the cross sec-tions for particle emission,gamma emission and fission processes are self-consistent.

SPECT coincidence imaging was performed on a dual-head gamma camera (DST-XLi, SMV) to allow the detection of 511keV gamma emission of ~(18)FDG positron radionuclides. ~(18)FDG was provided by Shanghai Institute of Nuclear Research. All the patients with lung lesions on X-ray film have not yet confirmed in diagnosis underwent ~(18)FDG imaging. Patients fasted 4 hours before administration of ~(18)FDG and kept rest from 1-2 hours after intravenous administration of 37-111MBq ~(18)FDG. Images were reconstructed by lterative reconstruction. Draw ROI on lesion area (L) and control area (C). The L/C ratio larger than 1.3, it was considered positive. Of total 39 cases, the sensitivity, specificity and accuracy was 93%(25/27), 83%(10/12) and was 90%(35/39) respectively, for the diagnosis of lung cancer. Therefore coincidence imaging of ~(18)FDG-SPECT is a suitable and reliable new technology for the diagnosis of lung cancer.

>=A whole body counter(WBC)is used for assessment of internal dose in the body by directly measuring the radiation emitted from the body.It is the most reliable and standard method of monitoring for internal exposure.Commonly,WBC is classified as two types,bed-type and chair-type.The WBC using bed scanners is quite common in many facilities.However,chair-type WBC is more suitable in the event of an accident involving radioactive material because of relatively light weight and easy transport.National Radiation Emergency Medical Center in Korea Institute of Radiological and Medical Science is constructing the transportable chair-type WBC system.In this study,Monte Carlo simulation used MCNPX code was performed to optimize shielding design for transportable chair-type WBC.The system uses high purity germanium(HPGe)detector.The use of germanium detector has improved the performance of WBC,especially the ability to distinguish among and between gamma rays that have similar energies.Relative efficiency of the HPGe detector is 90%,and measured resolution of the detector is 2.1 keV at the 1332 keV gamma emission.Optimization of the shielding design for WBC demands not only a realistic model of geometry but also careful description of background radiation.Concentration of terrestrial radionuclides reported in UNSCEAR was employed as natural background radiation source.The shielding of chair-type WBC consists of lead for the detector and the chair.A counting efficiency was calculated according to various conditions.At the result of this study,shielding thicknesses of the chair and the detector were optimized as 4 and 5 cm,respectively.It has been found that the shielding calculation of chair-type WBC by using MCNPX code could replace the actual measured values.
