In this paper, the numerical method is studied to calculate the hypersonic nonequilibrium viscous flow over a slender body with blunt nose. The detail of solving continuity equation and normal momentum equation in coupled way is described, as well as the mathematical method of dealing with slip boundary conditions at high altitude. The results of numerical solution indicate that the method is successful for marching forward to afterbody region about 30 times of nose radius.

Using the flying theory of magnetic head slider under submicro clea- rance, this paper deals with the flying characteristics of magnetic head sliders effected by the 2nd order velocity slip boundary, under which the flying clearance is reduced to the order of MMFP. A mathematical model associated is given and a finite element research on flying characteristics of magnetic head sliders at low sliding speeds is made, with its calcu- lation results being proved by white light interferometry experiments.
