The performance of a hydraulic winch of shearer depends on that of its servo-mechanism.A mathematical model of the servo-mechanism based on classical con-trol theory is established.Estimation of its static and dynamic characteristics,namely step response and frequency response is made.Preliminary analysis indi-cates that the servo-mechanism is stable in its performance.It can follow theunit step input signals,and has a higher cut-off frequency and adequate gain andphase margins.
