To provide an optimal industrial prototype for the extension project of the Tiekeng Iron Mine, a wet high-intensity magnetic separator of type SQC-6-2770 for concentrating weakly magnetic minerals has been newly developed by the joint efforts of the Jiangxi Nonferrous Metallurgy Research Institute, the Tiekeng Iron Mine and the Ganzhou Metallurgy Machinery Repair and Manufacture Plant. The result of the industrial test of the prototype at the Mine's concentrator was satisfactory. A limonite ore sample assaying 34.45 percent Fe taken from the mine gave a concentrate grade of 50.29 percent Fe with a 70.57 percent recovery in sole magnetic separation (one roughing and one scavenging) and a 76.23 percent total recovery in combined process magnetic separation—flotation. The consumptions of power and water amount are 3.87 kwh and 3.85 m3 per ton of crude ore respectively. The separator has a separating ring of 2,770 millimeter in outer diameter. The whole machine weighs 30 tons, with an output ranging from 25 tph to 30 tph. Its construction features are fully described in this paper including the unique arrangement of six pole-pairs around the ring, the tubular copper coil for inner-cooling water circulation and the grooved pole shoe components as magnetic collector matrices. A field intensity of 17,000 oersteds under the pole, though not remarkably high, was chosen in order to bring about a compromise in design parameters for simple, cheap construction and economical operation, particularly for reducing power loss and consumption of constructing materials, in the light of shortening both magnetic and electric circuits. The electromagnetic performances of the machine are fully described in the paper. Main dimensions and technical data are also presented for reference.

In most of wolframite mills in our country hand sorting as a pre-concentration is employed and in several mills the heavy-media separation or photometric sorting combined with hand sorting is used,...

In the present paper the dressing technology of wolframite ore in China and its technological results in the following operations, e. g. pre-concentration, crush- ing, gravity separation, slime treatment, cleaning rough concentrates and recovery of associated minerals are described, A common assessment is given, too. In most of wolframite mills in our country hand sorting as a pre-concentration is employed and in several mills the heavy-media separation or photometric sorting combined with hand sorting is used, by which the reject of barren rock is 50-70% from the feed. Recovery of WO_3 in this operation is 97-98%. The crushing plant flowsheet is generally performed in two or three stages in closed circuit and a few in open circuit. The size of final crushed products is minus 10 mm. The crushed products are screened into three classes of size, which is fed onto jigging. The jig tailings of coarse size and middle size are given to rod mill, and the products are send to jig again, the jig tailings are returned to the screening. The fine jig tailings are fed onto tables after classifying. The concentrates from jigs and tables are combined and cleaned either in the same mill or in a consolidated cleaning plant. The table middlings are returned to tabling or to tabling after grind- ing in rod mill. The table tailings are rejected as waste. The recovery of WO_3 in this operation is 92-93%. The slimes are treated separately. In most of mills a gravity flowsheet is adopted, in which the tables, tablecloth sluices, table-centrifugal separators are used for treating the slimes. In several mills flotation is used. The lower size limit of the table feed is 37 microns. The recovery of WO_3 in this operation is more than 70%, while the lower size limit of the centrifugal separator feed is 10 microns. The recovery of WO_3 is 60-65%. Flotation is used for roughing slimes with recovery of more than 80% WO_3. The poor tailings (above 80%) are rejected. But results of cleaning the rough concentrates by flotation are unsatisfactory. However flotation is suitable to cleaning the rough concentrates from the centrifugal separators. A method combined with flotation, gravity, magnetic separation, electrostatic separation, hydrometallurgy process, and roasting is applied for cleaning the rough concentrates. In the cleaning operation recovery above 95% WO_3 is obtained. Many associated minerals are recovered from various concentrates. The rough concentrates containing cassiterite and bismuth oxide are subjected to magnetic or electrostatic separation for recovering these minerals. Other asso- ciated minerals are recovered usually by flotation. The complexity in ore composi- tion leads to use of multistages of operation and to lower recovery. Owing to research and practice in tungsten ore treatment for 30 years in our country the poor ores are now can be treated to produce high-grade concentrates with recovery of 80-85% WO_3. Rich experience accumulated has laid solid founda- tion of further development of tungsten industry in China.

A rare earth ore flotation using α-styrylphcsphonie acid as a collector was investigated, Using a rare earth ore sample assaying 6.10% Re_xO taken from the Wei Shan Mine, Shantung,a concentrate grade of 60.13% Re_xO with a 48.36% recovery in a flotation circuit (one roughing and two cleaning operations) was obtained.It was found that the α-styrylphospyhonic acid may be used as a collector for not only cassiterite,ilmenite and wolframite but also rare earth ore flotation.

本文介绍了用笨乙烯膦酸浮选山东微山稀土矿的研究工作。品位为6.10%的原矿,经过一次粗选、二次精选,可以获得品位80.13%、回收率48.36%的稀土精矿。试验结果表明,苯乙烯膦酸不但可作为锡石、钛铁矿、钨矿的浮选捕收剂,用它来浮选稀土矿物也是富有成效的。
