Based on the assumption that the bulk and surface processes are of orders 1/4 and 1/2 respectively, the combined mechanism derived is shown in agreement with the experimental results, thus satisfacorily elucidating kinetically the particular rule of the oxygen pressure dependence of its permeability. The activation energies calculated for bulk diffusion and surface process are approximately equal with a value about 200KJ/mol.

The segregation kinetics and surface structures of sulfur on the Mo(111) surface have been studied by means of AES and LEED in the temperature range between 700℃ and 800℃. When the sample was heated to 800℃, sulfur segregated rapidly and progressively replaced the carbon on the surface. However, as heated to 700℃, no significant sulfur segregation has been observed. The annealing behavior of supersaturated solid solution Cu-Fe produced by 57Fe fon implanted into copper film at dose of 1 ×1016 57Fe at./cm2 have been studied by CEMS. During annealing the transition of y-Fe phase and isolated iron atoms into α-Fe phase was observed below 440℃. The temperature for vacancies detraped by isolated iron atoms is at about 300℃, and the dissolved α-Fe phase and bulk diffusion temperature is between 520-600℃.
