Comparisons and analyses of the values of energy loss and economical loss are made fbr following two operation modes: 2 pumps in 2 pump stations (Puyang initial pump station and Liaotheng pump station) and one pump only in Puyang initial pump station. The results show that the process of one pump boosting mode can not only reduce energy loss, but also save the pperational costs.

Xinglongtai Formation in Du 84 block, Liaohe oil field is a super heavy oil reservoir. Because of high viscosity and low mobility of oil in the reservoir, the conventional steam stimulation performance with vertical wells was not good, with average oil steam ratio per cycle only of 0.35. In order to improve steam stimulation efficiency, a series of technical measures have been taken in the field, including using high performance vacuum heat insulating tubing, deepening steam injection string and employing large capacity pump etc.. By adopting these measures, the steam stimulation efficiency was improved, leading the oil steam ratio increase to 0.559. Meanwhile, according to the reservoir and its fluid properties, some new technologies and methods have been studied and tested, such as steam injection recovery with horizontal wells, Steam Assisted Gravity Drainage (SAGD), Fracturing Assisted Steam Drive (FAST) and Combustion Override Split production Horizontal well (COSH) process etc.. The results indicated that the combination of horizontal well technology and gravity drainage will be the major recovery methods for enhancing recovery effectiveness of super heavy oil reservoir.
