In order to compare the heat preservation characteristics of different kinds of geotextile, two kinds of geotextile and rotor types of slope protection were adopted in the field experiments. Through the analysis of the observed temperature data, the following conclusions have beeu obtained: the heat preservation effect of geotextile varies with outside temperature. In a region, with the lowest local temperature of about—15℃, the geotextile can be used as the filtering layer of slope protection to protect the slope soil from frost action.
