This paper explains that the application of free-enthalpy functions of substances to thermodynamic calculations is a correct, simple and effective method. For practical convenience, experimental thermochemical data [C_p=f(T), H_(298)~°, S_(298)~°, phase transition point, phase transition heat] were used to calculate the table of thermodynamic properties of substances (T, C_p, H_T~°-H_(298)~°, S_T~°,-G_T~°-H_(298)~°/T) which is used in the free-enthalpy function method. Taking 298k as reference temperature, the equation for calculating -G_T~°-H_(298)~°/T and H_T~°-H_(298)~°was derived. Based upon this equation, computer calculations for the table of thermodynamic properties for 1233 substances was completed. The paper points out briefly that application of the free-enthalpy function and relative enthalpy of substances can correctly and quickly solve various calculation problems related to chemical equilibrium and energy balance.The former includes the calculation of reaction free enthalpy, equilibrium constants, maximum output, gaseous phase partial pressure and theoretical decomposition voltage of molten salt electrolysis. The latter includes the problems of calculation of reaction heat effect, theoretical reaction temperature, reaction heat equilibrium and general engineering heat euilibrium etc.

The solid solubility of Li_3VO_4 in Li_2SO_4 is small. No noticeable solubility of Li_2SO_4 in CuSO_4 or Li_3VO_4 is observed. The transition heat of Li_2SO_4 is equal to 25.3 kJ/mol. Variation of specific heat of Li_2SO_4 and Li_(1.90)Cu_(0.05)SO_4 at room temperature phase with temperature is determined by adiabatic method. The specific heat at high temperature phase, however, is 1.82±0.05J/g, independent of the temperature and composition. The linear thermal expansion coefficients are 23,3×10~(-6)/℃ and 42.6×10~(-6)/℃ respectively.
