This paper presents the progress of world steel industry during the last decade. It should be mentioned that the world crude steel production has risen to the level of 1979's again after it had dropped down for about 6 years. This situation is mainly due to the increase of the output of steel in developing countries. According to the prediction of world steel consumption the steel industry will grow at a low speed of around 1% perannum.

本文回顾了十年来世界炼钢工业的进展,指出世界钢产量经过六年下降后回升,已达到并略超过1979年的水平,它在相当大程度上是发展中国家钢产量增长的结果。按世界钢消费水平预测,钢铁工业将以1%/年的低速率增长。过去十年中炼钢工业最重要的特点,是通过开发新技术来降低能耗、原材料消耗,大幅度提高质量及生产率。今后钢铁工业的技术发展趋势可概括为三个方面:连续化在线自动化生产、现有工艺的创新(如熔融还原、薄板坯连铸)、以及钢铁生产工艺革命性的变革(如半固态成形、粉末轧制等)。

本文综述薄板坯连铸的基本特点即板坯薄、拉速快、坯温高,以及由此而引起的与传统板坯连铸工艺及设备的区别;分析了目前几种典型机型及技术发展趋势,指出薄板坯连铸技术将沿着以下三方面发展:最大限度地节约能源,可靠地生产无缺陷高温坯,简化设备及工艺流程,并建议发展我国薄板坯连铸技术,应采取立足于自立更生,同时抓引进,力争在90年代全面掌握这一成套技术。
