The ion activity product and the standard Gibbs energy of transfer of potas sium tetraphenylborate from water to mixed solvents of water ethanol with different proportion at 298.15K are studied,and the medium effect of potassium tetraphenylborate in the mixed solvents of water ethanol is discussed.
These results are interpreted in terms of the structure of the micelle solution, electrostatic interactions between ions and micelles, ionic hydratability, changes in the water structure and an activity product effect.
