Yields can be improved by means of selecting ifs components especiallyfor grains per head and yield per head and so forth. The path analysis sugges-ted that: over 95% of variations of line yield were accounted by variations ofheads and yield per heads (grains per head and 1000-grain-weight). Therefo-re, selecting high yield barley can be effectively achieved by comparing yieldsof hybrids in early generation and selecting in high yield combinations usinnggrains per head which was casily identified in the field as a criterion.

采用双因素交叉式遗传设计(NC Ⅱ),在1982—1985年对杂种F_2—F_5代集团产量和单株各性状进行了测定。结果表明: 1、不同年份、不同世代各参试组合的集团产量高低趋势较为一致,特别是高产组合,历年均表现出较高的产量,且在高产组合中可以产生较多的高产系统,故通过早代组合产量比较结合一些质量性状的选择,可以淘汰一些较差组合,而集中精力于少数高产组合中。 2、改进产量可通过对产量构成性状的选择得以实现。通径分析结果表明,产量的95%以上的变异是由单位面积穗数和穗粒重(穗粒数×千粒重)决定,所以通过早代产量比较确定高产组合,再在其中加强对穗粒数、穗粒重等特别是田间容易鉴别且遗传力较高的穗粒数的选择将是进行高产育种的一条很有效的途径。
