If a reliable method of this nature is developed, the breeding cycle can be shortened, land and labour saved and promising clones earlier recommended for large scale planting. Hevea brasiliensis is a perennial tree crop and the breeding cycle is very long, so that it is very important to study the method for predicting the yield of rubber trees at the nursery stage. If a reliable method of this nature is developed, the breeding cycle can be shortened, land and labour saved and promising clones earlier recommended for large scale planting. One-year-old buddings were used as testing materials in the study. The yield correlation between young buddings in the nursery and mature buddings of the same clone was analysed in several ways. The results obtained are as follows: (1) Petiolule Latex Method: In this method the rate of correct selection of high yielding clones was over 80%, while the rate of wrong selection of poor yielding clones was merely below 5%. The latex yield of petiolules of one-year-old buddings showed a highly significant correlation with the mean yield of mature buddings for the first five years of tapping(n=92, r=0.7961***). (2) Lateral Vein Latex Method: In this method the rate of correct selection of high yielding clones was nearly 50%, while the rate of wrong selection of poor yielding clones was only 2.2—8.8%. The graded latex yields of the lateral veins of one-yleld-old buddings showed a highly significant correlation with the mean yield of mature buddings for the first five years of tapping(n=92, r=0.5268***). (3) Specific Leaf Weight Method and Nectary Latex Method: These two methods were inferior either to the first or to the second method. The theoretical basis for yield prediction of rubber trees at the nursery stage is suggested as follows: (1) The leaf blade is an organ for photosynthesis. The latex yield of petiolules on one-year-old buddings showed a highly significant correlation with the net photosynthetic intensity of their leaf blades measured at the same time (n=57, r=0.5959***). (2) The latex vessel number in lateral veins and petiolules of one-year-old buddings showed a significant and a highly significant correlations with the yield of mature buddings respectively. (3) The correlation coefficient between the latex yield of petiolules on one-yearold buddings and the yield of mature buddings as wetll as the correlation coefficient between the yield of mature buddings and that of mature mother seedlings were highly significant. The same was true of the correlation coefficient between the latex yield of petiolules of one-year-old buddings and the yield of mature buddings. (4) Both the petiolule latex yield and the latex vessel number in lateral veins or midribs have a greater heritability. (5) The latex vessel number, area and thickness of leaf blades remain unchanged once their growth becomes stable. It is suggested that the lateral vein latex method should be used for preliminary selection and the petiolule latex method for final selection before wintering.

This research deals with the vegetative dynamitic analysis of the flowering and vegetative branches of massoniana's clonal seed orchard's 10 years female grafted seedling in early flowering and 20 years mature mother seedling. Analysis parameter includes N, P, K, carbohydrate etc.. Results are: (1) The total N, P and K of female grafted seedlinga's branches are almost the same, but the carbohydrate contents are obviously different; (2) Mother seedling is opposed to female grafted seedling....

Results are: (1) The total N, P and K of female grafted seedlinga's branches are almost the same, but the carbohydrate contents are obviously different; (2) Mother seedling is opposed to female grafted seedling. The total N, P and K are obviously different (The total P of male and female flowering branches is respectively 3246 and 4611 times of vegetative branches'; the total K of vegetative branches is respectively 181 and 168 times of male and female flowering branches') and the carbohydrate contents are almost the same; (3) The carbohydrate contents of grafted seedling of male and female flowering branches are respectively 206 and 161 times of mother seedling's and the carbohydrate contents of vegetative branches are almost the same; (4) According to the ratio of C to N in two kinds of female trees, C/N in 85~90 is advantageous to flower bud differentiation. The research was beneficial to water and fertilizer management and increasing production measure for massoniana's seed orchard.

对马尾松(Pinusmassonianalamb)无性系种子园10a生始花期嫁接母树和20a生盛果实生母树雌雄花枝和营养枝的N、P、K等营养元素及碳水化合物的动态进行了研究。分析表明:①嫁接母树各类枝条的N、P、K总量基本一致,碳水化合物总量差异显著;②实生母树与此相反,N、P、K总量差异显著(雌雄花枝的全P含量分别为营养枝的32 46倍和46 11倍;营养枝K的含量分别为雌雄花枝的1 81倍和1 68倍),而碳水化合物总量基本一致;③嫁接母树雌雄花枝碳水化合物总量分别为实生母树的2 06倍和1 61倍,而营养枝碳水化合物总量基本一致;④根据两类母树碳、氮比值,初步认为马尾松的雌雄花枝C/N以8 5~9 0较有利于花芽分化。本研究对马尾松种子园水肥管理和增产措施有一定参考价值。
