An experimental studyon the erosion of artifical sandstones imposed by submerged self-resonating water jets ismade under atmospheric pressure. The emphasis is put on the inlet and exit geometric contour of the Organ-pipe nozzle, including its chamer bottom contour, exit throat lengthand exit divergent angle. The influence of these factors on the erosion action is studied andsome regular results are obtained. The pressure on the axis of the jet is measured at different pump pressures and different stand-off distances. Experimental results show that jetpressure pulsations of Organ-pipe nozzles are higher than that of cone-shaped nozzles,and that the rock erosion has close relations with the pressure pulsation of the jet. A basisfor further improvement of Organ-pipe nozzles and analysis of the mechanism ofself-resonating cavitating jets is provided.

By field survey it is indicated that the bedrocks, mainly including Tertiary Red Statum and Sandrocks of Mesozoic group, widely participate in ercding process besides loess erosion in the area of loess plateau. Regional distribution, eroding classification, erosion conditions and patterns of the bed rocks are expounded in this paper. The bed rock erosion has a great perniciousness and should not be ignored. We must try hard to explore possible paths to bring bedrock erosion under control.

野外调查表明,黄土高原地区除黄土侵蚀外,以第三系红层及中生界砂质岩为代表的下伏基岩也广泛参与了侵蚀过程。本文叙述了基岩的地域分布、侵蚀性分类和基岩的侵蚀状况及方式,认为基岩侵蚀危害很大,不容忽视,应努力寻求治理的途径。
