The electric control system uses a programmable controller of simple structure and high reliability,which is very convenient in programming. The whole system is organically connected with the WDPF distributed computer control system,forming a new style of automatic control system. It has been successfully used in the strip shape control process and has got quite good results in the controlling and dispelling of center wave,edge wave and buckle of the strip.
The paper describes the application of edge wave in determining the size and depth of defect steel structure and describes the process and results of the experiment with the edge echo method. A design for calibrating path distance is put forward in order to improve the testing accuracy, which gives a new method to measure the real size of the defects.
With the method, the lateral displacements of metal of cold aluminium strip rolling are studied in different width to thickness ratios and different flatnesses of edge wave and central wave after rolling.
