The medium size nitrogen fertilizer plants are the pioneering sector in the Chinese nitrogen fertilizer industry. A major part of these plants are using coke as raw material. These plants need transformatiou since they are equipped with 5060's technology. The transformation should be directed to reduce energy consumption and raisethe economic results. The author puts forward suggestions for the transformation of different types of fertilizer plants with discussions on 6 common problems encountered in the technical transformation: (1) adoptaion of high capacity ammonia converter, highly active catalyst and increase of the packing capacity; (2) full utilization of chemical reaction heat and increment of vapour pressure of industrial and waste boilers; (3) hydrogen recovery from purge gas; (4) modification of cooling water system; (5) impro vement of insulation quality; (6) replacement of high-energy consumption and low efficiency equipment.

中氮肥是我国氮肥工业发展的先驱,其中以煤焦为原料的厂居多。中氮厂生产技术都是五六十年代的,面临改造,方向是降低能耗,提高经济效益。作者针对不同类型厂提出不同的改造意见,并讨论了各类型厂技术改造中的六点共性问题:1.氨合成过程建议采用大容量合成塔、使用高活性催化剂、增大装填量;2.充分利用化学反应热,提高自备工业锅炉和废锅发汽压力;3.回收弛放气中的氢气;4.进行冷却水系统改造;5.提高保温保冷质量;6.更新高能耗、低效率设备。

This article is concerned with the hydrogen recovery from the tail gas of ammonia plant by suchprocesses as pressure swing absorption, hollow fiber membrance, cryogenic, solvent washing and hydrogenstored alloy. It sketches the flow schemes of these processes, and gives description of several applications of hydrogen, as well as of how to select the recovery processes.

The Paper bears on the problems appearing before and after the Prism hydrogen recovery set of large ammonia plant was put into operation and deals with the solving measures. It summarizes the nowsheet and process features of cryogenic hydrogen recovery and the application of PSA to hydrogen recovery, discusses and evaluates their development prospect, and suggests the purther recovery method of hydrogen in purge gases.
