Another model was also developed by means of enthalpy methodic describe the solidification- heat transfer process of molten steel in thin strip casting/ rolling practice. Discretization and differential method were also applied to establishing the model in which both the temperature and enthalpy value at each node are given with the dependence of solidifying forefront x, on time predictable. The influence of heat transfer coefficient (k) on solidifying field was calculated and discussed through simulation,as well as the influence of the roll material used on temperature field. The critical casting/rolling speed was determined. The results is availabe to provide a reliable basis for the control of casting/rolling specs and the selection of roll materials to be used.
