The concentration of 239 Pu in the bottom sea water is 31.7±4.7μBq/dm 3,the concentration of 238 Pu is 0.78±0.70μBq/dm 3,the ratio of 238 Pu/ 239 Pu is 0.024, which may be caused by resuspension of surface sediment.
In July 1995 the sea water, surface sediment, aerosol and marine organisms were collected in the east longitude 113°00′00″~113°58′00″,north latitude 22°00′00″~22°44′00″of Zhujiang Estuary,China.
Results The contents of B(a)P were 0.06-707.12 ng/g in sediment of rivers and lakes, 7.1-1 492.12 ng/g in surface sediment of seaports, marines, and tidal flats respectively.
Surface sediment samples at 38 sites of the South China Sea were collected and analyzed to study the contents and assemblage distributions of dinoflagellate cysts.
Based on the investigation of distribution and many seasonal water samples in the surface sediment of 45 lakes in the middle and lower reaches regions of Yangtze River, the ecological characters of total phosphorus of indexes of 57 common diatom species were studied.
The results of this study showed that the content of sedimentary total phosphorus ranges from 736.40 to 1 602.50mg/kg in surface sediment samples, with an average value of 964.60mg/kg.
The germination of dinoflagellate cysts isolated from the surface sediment from Peter the Great Bay (Sea of Japan) provided motile cells of Gyrodinium instriatum.
Along with other foraminiferans, several offspring-filled tests of Planoglabratella opercularis (d'Orbigny, 1839) were found in surface sediment samples.
In addition, surface sediment samples were collected at 52 stations during the months of May, June and July (1994) to represent the non‐monsoon sediments and November, December (1994) and January (1995) to represent the monsoon sediments.
Heavy minerals in 116 surface sediment samples of the Sanggou bay and in 6 samples from 3 rivers directly empties the Bay have been studied.Accord- ing to the characteristic of the heavy mineral component and to the distribu- tive patterns of the heavy minerals, the Bay can be divided into 4 heavy mineral regions:Ⅰ-hornblende;Ⅱ-zircon-titanite-epidotegarion;Ⅲ-pyrite -schistose mineral region;Ⅳ-hornblende-epidote-garnet-metallic mineral re- gion,Variousmineral regions could reflect the differances...
Samples of marine sediments, including some fragments of pumice and other volcanic rocks, have been collected from Okinawa Trough since 1978. Forty-three bottom surface sediment samples were analysed. Their heavy and light mineral contents, as well as their distribution patterns were studied. According to their mineralogical characteristies and their provincial difference in sources, the studied mineral assemblages can be divided as follows: 1. Volcanic type These minerals usually occur as...
A total of 72 sporopollen types of terrestrial plants, 7 aquatic plants and several freshwater algae are recognized in 59 surface sediment samples collected from the bottom of the Dianchi Lake, the lagest freshwater lake in southwest China. The sporopollen distribution patterns of terrestrial plants in surface sediments were analysed based on pollen concentrations and pollen percentages. Multinomial fits were made to show relations of water depth with pollen numbers of some herbaceou...
