The remote sensing technique is used in the research to grade the natural degree of landscape in the Miyun Reservoir Basin of Chaobei River, to measure the areas of the different grades concerned, and to make an assessment of the natural landscape of the Basin and and the areas in the counties concerned,...

The remote sensing technique is used in the research to grade the natural degree of landscape in the Miyun Reservoir Basin of Chaobei River, to measure the areas of the different grades concerned, and to make an assessment of the natural landscape of the Basin and and the areas in the counties concerned, by use of the following indexes: natural degree of landscape, degradation degree of landscape and reconstruction degree of landscape. The results of study are: semi-degradation of landscape, medium level of reconstruction and semi-natural state. The counties concerned are ranked, in the order of landscape quality as follows: Xing-long, Huirou, Miyun, Yanqing, Luanping, Fengning, Chong-li, Chicheng and Guyuan.
