The results showed tha 6 out of 158 strains of S. sclerotiorum were screened out, sclerotia of which could germi-nate to form apothecia at 20℃ without any conditioning. The improved procedures for formation of apothecia included: (1) in-cubation of selected strains...

The results showed tha 6 out of 158 strains of S. sclerotiorum were screened out, sclerotia of which could germi-nate to form apothecia at 20℃ without any conditioning. The improved procedures for formation of apothecia included: (1) in-cubation of selected strains at 25℃ on autoclaved carrot slices for at least one month; (2)incubation of sclerotia on most sand at 20℃ f0r production of stipes; (3) transfer of sclerotia with stipes to an incubator of 20℃ with fluorescent light for develop-ment of apothecia. Strain Zxd-1 and other five strains of S. sclerotiorum were pathogenic to Brassica napus CVs Zhongyou 821 and Westar, and difference in tolerance to S. sclerotiorum between the two cultivare can be detected with the screened stains and Canadian cmmon clones as well.
