    In order to control the whitefly Trialeurodes vaporariorum in the greenhouses in Beijing suburb the parasitic fungus Asckersonia was introduced from Sichuan Province in 1977, from which the strain A6S was isolated. Preliminary tests in spring showed that the percentage of parasitization by this strain on the first and second instar nymphs of whitefly on-cicumber was only 30-40% in greenhouse.     In order to control the whitefly Trialeurodes vaporariorum in the greenhouses in Beijing suburb the parasitic fungus Asckersonia was introduced from Sichuan Province in 1977, from which the strain A6S was isolated. Preliminary tests in spring showed that the percentage of parasitization by this strain on the first and second instar nymphs of whitefly on-cicumber was only 30-40% in greenhouse. In order to improve the efficiency of whitefly control the biological characters of that strain and better method of its cultivation have been studied. As a result new isolates were obtained and the percentage of parasitization was raised to about 90% and the cost for production of the microbial insecticide was reduced to 5% of the original.
