Synchronous condensers operating in power systems may fall out of step under abnormal conditions, and remain in asynchronous oscillation for a long.. time. Such phenomenon has appeared in many power systems, inflicting injury to the synchronous condensers and impairing the supply to load.In this paper the characteristics of steady-state stability, transient-syn-chronous stability and transient-resynchronizing stability of a synchronous condenser operating near a load center are investigated. The factors affecting stability and the process of loss of synchronism are studied, with an analysis of restricting conditions.Based on the above analysis, practical criteria of transient-resynchronizing stability of synchronous condensers are given.One of the most important factors governing the asynchronous performance and resynchronization of synchronous condensers is the relationship between the slip and the so-called self-braking torque, which is analyzed in detail. The average asynchronous torque is also analyzed.

This paper describes a method of applying the modern control theory to the investigation of the problem of optimal control of field excitation of synchronous machines. The particular aspects of this study are: starting from the actual concrete situation of electric power transmission works of our country, stress is given to the study of the effects of increasing the transmitting ability of long distance transmission lines by means of optimal control of field excitation. The scheme of optimal control with fixed gain of feedback, being easily applied in practice, as suggested in this paper, not only greatly improves the disturbance-resisting ability and the quality of dynamic behavior, but also markedly increases the steady-state stability limits and raises the transient stability limits of the system to a certain extent.

本文运用现代控制理论研究了同步发电机的最佳励磁控制问题。研究的特点是:从我国电力系统具体实践出发,着重探讨了最佳励磁控制对提高远距离输电线路传输能力的作用。本文研究推荐的这种易于实现的,具有固定反馈增益的最佳励磁控制方案,不仅使得远距离输电系统的抗干扰能力、动态品质有极大的改善,而且可使系统的静态稳定极限获得显著的提高,与此同时,系统的动态稳定极限亦有所提高。

Using the results obtained from model experiments, this paper shows that, by adopting a power system stabilizer in the excitation system, it is possible to increase the damping torque of a generator, to suppress its self-excited vibrations, thereby effectively improves the steady-state stability(or dynamic stability)of a power system This paper gives the test results of the steady-state stability limits of power system by using power system stabilizer with electric power, superfluous power and frequency as its control signals. Further checks were also done by applying short circuits, sudden change of prime mover motive power, sudden variation of transmission line parameters, load rejections, etc.; as a result, it has been discovered that the power system stabilizer with frequency as its control signal gives good performance and easily be realized in practice. Constructional details and parameters of power system stabilizer are also given in this paper. Factory has been arranged to produce such power system stabilizer in accordance with the results of this investigation, this should be an effective and a realistic way to improve the stability of electric power system of our country.

本文用模型实验证明,在励磁调节系统中,采用电力系统镇定器(Power SystemStabilier)能增加机组的阻尼转矩,抑制发电机产生的自发振荡,因而有效地提高了系统的稳定性。文中提供了电功率、过剩功率及频率作讯号的镇定器对提高系统稳定性的实际效果,并用短路、原动机功率突变、线路参数突变、甩负荷等运行方式进行了实验校验,说明采用频率为讯号的镇定器,性能良好,也便于实现,文中也给出了镇定器的结构及参数。有关厂家,将根据实验结果,生产镇定器的工业产品,这就为改善我国电力系统中存在的稳定性问题,提供了一项有效而便于实现的措施。
