This paper is to describe a new ostracode genus,Paramoelleritia,which includes5 new species(P.xiangzhouensis,P.miaohuangensis,P.subovata,P.subtrapezoidalis,P.beiliuensis)and 2 new subspecies(P.xiangzhouensis magna,P.miaohuangensisparva),all collected from the“Sipai Formation”and the“Yingtang Formation”inthe Xiangzhou and Wuxuan districts,and the Beiliu Formation in the Beiliu districtof Guangxi.The new genus Paramoelleritia under study is easily distinguished from theother genera of the Family Leperditiidae by a clear curving-conic mandibular mus-cular scar(known commonly as“chevron”),which has also recently been found inthe Middle Devonian forms from Southern China.It seems probable that such aconic-shaped mandibular muscular scar originated from a V-shaped one in those ofLower Devonian,representing an advanced type.Therefore,it may be suggested thatin the Family of Leperditiidae,the arrangement of mandibular muscular scar haschanged evolutionarily from irregular to V-shaped and then to conic-shaped.Besides,the new genus Paramoelleritia is closely allied to Moelleritia from theMiddle Devonian formations of Canada and U.S.S.R.and the Paramoelleritia-bearingbeds may be referable to the Middle Devonian.

The early Middle Devonian Tangxiang formation(or called as the Nabiao for-mation)exposed in Luofu of Nandan,Guangxi,is composed of black-gray,light gray,carbonaceous and siliceous mudstones,attaining a thickness of about 360m.Themudstones contain plentiful tentaculites,cephalopods,trilobites as well as many smal-ler brachiopods.So far as the brachiopods are concerned,they are fairly rich inkind but are quite different in assemblage and features from those in the contem-poraneous deposits of Southwest China.The whole brachiopods and their stratigra-phical significance will be discussed in other article.In the present paper,special reference is made to plicanoplids,which,so faras is known,have been unrecorded in this country,or at least little recorded abroad.As it bears its peculiar internal and external structures,its systematic position isstill in dispute,some paleontologists referred it to Strophomenacea or Chonetacea,others to Atrypacea.However,the specimens under study show such characteristicsas follows:shell small with a thin visceral cavity,without punctate shell;internalpart of ventral shell having pedical tube but lacking in foramen,ventral musclarscars indistinct.Cardinal process of dorsal valve recurved and rectangular in outlinewith the long axis transverse.Socket ridge nearly parallel to hinge line.Spiraliascar unseen.Accordingly,it seems feasible that Plicanoplids may be erected as anew superfamily Plicanoliacea.In this paper are described a new family Plicanoplidae,5 new genera,6 newspecies and an indeterminate species,namely,Costanoplia faceta,C.sp.,Paracos-tanoplia mirabilis,Luofaia delicata,Paraplicanoplia nana,P.multicostata,Tangxiangiadelicata,all belonging to Plicanopliacea.

This paper gives a brief account of the Cretaceous and early Tertiary non-marinegastropods from South China.A total of 32 genera and 40 species are here describedwith 8 new genera and 32 new species included.According to their stratigraphicaldistribution,7 gastropod assemblages may be divided in ascending order as follow:1.Brotiopsis wakinoensis-Lioplacodes cholnokyi assemblage.This assemblage,though usually seen in E.China,is represented by those gastropods from the Guantouformation in Yongkang of Zhejiang.The commonest forms are Viviparus onogoensisKob.et Suz.,Lioplacodes cholnokyi(Schlosser),Melanoides(Yoshimonia)pyramis Yü(MS),Brotiopsis wakinoensis(Kob.et Suz.),B.(Songyangospira)multicostata Yü(MS),B.(Songyangospira)kobayashii Suz.and Gyraulus yongkangensis Yü(MS), etc.Their age may be referable to the middle Lower Cretaceous.2.Mesolanistes nanxiongensis-Truneatella maxima assemblage.This assemblagerepresented overwhelmingly by the aquatic prosobranchians,is known to occurextensively in the Upper Cretaceous of East China,while in South China,it can beseen chiefly in the Nanxiong formation of the Nanxiong basin of Guangdong and theQingjiang basin of Jiangxi,in the Sanshui formation of the Sanshui basin of Guang-dang and in the middle member of the Xuannan formation of southern Anhui.Thecharacteristic forms are:Mesolanistes nanxiongensis(sp.nov.),M.latericea(sp.nov.),Truncatella maxima Yü et Lee(MS),Valvata sinensis Yü et Lee(MS)and Pachychi-loides subtilistriata(sp.nov.).Their age probably belongs to the late UpperCretaceous.3.Ptychochilus bellus-Agallospira multispiralis assemblage.This mixed assemblageis now known to occur only in the Shanghu formation of the Nanxiong basin ofGuangdong.Three fossil beds may be included as given below:a.The basal part contains the land snails Ptychochilus bellus (gen.et sp.nov.)and Shanghuspira costata(gen.et sp.nov.).b.The middle and lower parts are characterized by abundant aquatic proso-branchians and less land snails,such as Hydrobia datangensis(sp.nov.),Amnicoladatangensis(sp.nov.),Fluminicola guangdongensis(sp.nov.),Nystia luminosa(sp.nov.)and Grandipatula?deformis(sp.nov.)c.The upper part is represented by numerous individuals of land snails,namely,Agallospira multispiralis(gen.et sp.nov.)and Zhenjiangospira dignata(gen.et sp.nov.).The foregoing stated fossils may be referred to the Paleocene.4.Polycircus gracilicostata-Nanxiongospira uniptychia assemblage.This mixedassemblage consisting of land snails and aquatic prosobranchians occurs chiefly in theLuofozhai formation of the Nanxiong basin of Guangdong and in the Chijiangformation of the Chijiang basin of Jiangxi,yielding Polycirsus gracilicostata(sp.nov.),Cirsomphalus laevigatus(sp.nov.),Renistoma anomphalum(gen.et sp.nov.),Bithynia aff.lordostoma Yu et Wang,Nanxiongospira uniptychia(gen.et sp.nov.),N.nobilis(gen.et sp.nov.),Pupoides mica(sp.nov.),etc.,which suggest the earlyEocene.5.Parhydrobia macilenta-Caspia antiqua assemblage.This assemblage with aquaticprosobranchians as its leading forms,is usually present in the second and third forma-tions of the Funing group of Jiangsu,containing Parhydrobia macilenta Yü,Pseuda-mnicola opima Yü,Caspia antiqua Yü,Sinoplanorbis minuta Yü,etc.,which belongprobably to the early middle Eocene.6.Multiscapta raris-Ganeselloides sulcatus assemblage.This assemblage found inXuancheng and Laian districts of southern Anhui,is dominated by land snails,including Multiscapta raris Yü(MS),Prionolabium polyptychium Yü(MS),Pupoi-des(Ischnopupoides)antiquus Yü et Wang,Ganeselloides sulcatus Wang,etc.Thefossil-bearing deposits seem to be middle-late Eocene.7.Kwangsispira accelerata-Sinoplanorbis sinensis assemblage.This compoundassemblage consisting of aquatic prosobranchians and aquatic pulmonates,occurs inthe Nadu formation of the Baise basin of Guangxi.The commonest forms are:Kwangsispira accelerata Hsü,Tulotomoides kwangsiensis(Hsü),Paraeampeloma ovata Hsü,Sinoplanorbis sinensis(Odhner),Hippeutisi luminosa Yü,etc.,which may beattributed to the late Eocene.The erection of gastropod assemblages mentioned above will inevitably lead toan understanding of the geographical distribution of the Cretaceous-early Tertiarynon-marine gastropods and their relation with the equivalents elsewhere in the world,and may afford,at least,some evidences for the subdivision and correlation of theCretaceous—early Tertiary terrestrial sediments.

本文记述了华南地区白垩纪和早第三纪非海相腹足类化石群,共32属、40种,其中8新属、32新种。根据化石群分布的特点,将本区白垩纪至始新世的腹足类分为七个化石组合,并对化石组合的面貌及其地层时代进行了讨论,对研究华南红层具有重要意义。
