A pronounced dispersion rigion is noted near 150℃ (which varies with the degree of cure), and is accompained by a prominent drop in Young's modulus in this region. The temperature dependence of Young's modulus and the internal friction for the cured epoxy resin is typical for a slightly crosslinked polymer. A pronounced dispersion rigion is noted near 150℃ (which varies with the degree of cure), and is accompained by a prominent drop in Young's modulus in this region. The loss peak is due to the glass transition in the epoxy resin network, since above this temperature the specimens exhibit a rubberlike behaviour. Results presented here agree well with those of other investigators. However, the glass transition temperature determined by internal friction peak is much higher than that determined from the thermo-mechanical curves by Kargin et al., this difference suggests that the external force applied during a thermo-mechanical curve determination may produce certain mechano-chemical effects in the epoxy resin network.Experimental data obtained on the relation between the degree of crosslinking and the glass transition temperature are given and discussed.

It isfound that the viscosity of the formeris 120-260 centipoise at 25℃, and thelatter 400 centipoise at 25℃.Thus EMresin synthesized by CGY-331 epoxy isselected as the main component of thesealant.The tags of the resin penetratedinto the etched enamel are measuredunder SEM and found to be as long as13μm. The sealing effect on the fis-sures is excellent .The structure is similarto Bis-GMA by infra-red spectrographyanalysis. The resin can be cured within1-1~(1/2) min. The adhesive strength onetched enamel of the resin after curingis 100-170 kg/cm~2. The solubilities ofthe sealant in distilled water, 0.1NNaOH, 0.1N lactic acid and 5% aceticacid are 0.02-0.05mg/cm~2. It containsvolatile materials in less than 3%.After acetone extraction the sampleretains more than 95% of its weight.All these show a high degree of curing.The chemical and physical propertiesare stable. The other related clinical.tests comply with the requirements ofclinical practice. Acute toxic effects was tested bytubing of the mixture of sealant powderand tween in a dosage of 10g/kg bodyweight into the stomach of healthysmall rats. No toxic effect or death wasobseryed. A subacute intoxication testwas carried out on white rats. Aftercontinuous feeding of the same mixture in dosages of 2g/kg body weight perday for 45 days, no apparent differencebetween the experimental and controlswas observed in the activities, bodyweight growth, routine blood examina-tions, hepatic and renal functions andthe histopathologic pictures. Clinically, the sealant was appliedon 968 non-carious first permanentmolars of 7-9 year-old children. Theintact retention rate after 1, 2, 3 yearswas 83.78%, 66.93%, 55.37% and cari-es incidence was reduced up to 92.31%,93.10%, 83.47% respectively. No sig-nificant difference was shown betweenthe retention rates of different teeth,but the caries was reduced to 86.36%for lower teeth and 75.76% for theuppers (P<0.01). This is probablyrelated to the higher incidence for thelowers. Caries occur more frequentlyin pits than in fissures.The most fre-quent occurrence is in the central pit,for example, in the upper teeth thepercentage of occurrence is 66.67, andin the lower teeth 46.15. This showsthat the pits are the most susceptibleareas to caries, and it is worthy ofnotice for the sake of preventivemeasures.

作者选用CGY-331环氧树脂为原料,合成EM树脂,经筛选配制成EM自凝防龋剂。该剂具有粘度低,易渗透,固化速度快,固化程度高,耐介质性能良好,临床应用较方便等特点。经动物毒性实验证明,对机体基本无毒害。试用于7~9岁1039名小学生作连续观察,三年后复查到的968颗经涂布的无龋第一恒磨牙,其龋齿降低率为83.47%。
