Serial cryostat sections of the celiac ganglion were prepared from 30 guinea pigs.The process of De Da Torre's glyoxylic acid method and different histochmical rea-ctions were performed consecutively on the same section.Under the conditions employ-ed in this experiment,it was shown that the SIF cells,in contrast to the principalneurons,exhibited a more intense reation of adenosine triphosphatase,and a lessintense reaction of monoamine oxidase,lactic dehydrogenase and nonspecific esterase,and a negative reaction of alkaline phosphatase and acetylcholinesterase.The acidphosphatase reaction of most of SIF cells was weak as demonstrated with both theGomori's lead method and the simultaneously coupling method.The SIF cells showedless lipids,nucleic acids and about the same content in tyrosin as compared with theprincipal neurons.These histochemical properties of SIF cells,as well as their morphological charac-teristics of grouping in clusters and surrounding blood vessels,implicated that theyfunction in a different way from that of principal neurons,and probably as endocrineand/or paracrine cells in modulating nervous transmission in the celiac ganglion.

A simplified Bjorklund's method based on a direct analysis of uncorrected characteristic excitation spectra of fluorophores, was used to clarify the nature of catecholamine (CA) in SIF cells of guinea pig celiac ganglion. After the reaction of formaldehyde induced fluorescence, followed by a 5 min treatment with HC1, the CA fluorophore in SIF cells showed a shift in excitation maximium from 420nm to 350nm, with a drop in 390/350 nm peak ratio to below one. The changes were different from the spectral behaviour...

The changes were different from the spectral behaviour of dopamine fluorophore, but well in agreement with the characteristics of noradrenaline in protein models. The results suggested that in the cells most of CA, if not all, were noradrenaline.

In addition, in this experiment wenoticed that after injection of HRPinto the pancreas of cat the celiacganglia and the spinal ganglia neededvarious rate of perfusion of fixitive inorder to demonstrate the HRP-labelledneurons more effectively. It appearedthat the rapid perfusion was moreeffective in celiac ganglia, the slowerperfusion, however, was more effectivein spinal ganglia.

本研究表明猫胰腺的头、体和尾均接受来自双侧T_2~L_4(其中主要是T_5~T_(11))脊神经节和双侧迷走神经结状节的传入神经纤维和来自双侧腹腔神经节和肠系膜上神经节的交感神经节后纤维。其中到胰头的神经纤维主要来自右侧神经节,但从胰头到胰尾,来自左侧神经节的神经纤维逐渐增多。在实验方法上作者发现腹腔神经节和脊神经节需用不同的速度灌流固定液,才能更有效地显示标记神经元。
