It is used to perform pulse coding or pulsewidth agility and to provide desired high voltage and large current. A solid state driver using silicon controlled rectifiers and power transistors is described, some problems concerned with application of bipolar power transistors to driver and their solutions are discussed. Two practical circuits of novel structure and reasonable design are presented. Their volume, weight and cost are greatly reduced, and efficiency is increased.

This paper presents the design of decoder driver circuits for liquid crystal display(LCD) in the digital instrument ASIC, including the levels of system, logic circuitry and layout. The CMOS 4μm silicon-gate technology is used in the designed LSI.

Using this driver circuit to drive a MQW-LD,288 ps switch time is achieved.
