In recent years, the river courses of Dongyu, Zhuzhaoxin all together 11 rivers for irrigation and drainage in Heze district have been silted severely. It is learnt from sediment calculation of some typical sections that sediment yield caused by ranfall and runoff erosion makes 18.5% of the total amount of oncoming sediment to the reach, 81.5% of that is brought by water diverting from the Yellow River.
