In order to combat the Fusarium and Verticillium wilts of cotton,a lotof resistant cultivars have been developed successively by the Institute ofCotton Research,Shensi Province,they are Shen 4,Shen 65-141,Shen401,Shen 416,Shen 112,Shen 3563,Shen 1155,etc.The development of these cultivars indicates that the resistance to theabove mentioned diseases could be combined with good agronomic characte-ristics such as high yield and good quality of fibers.In order to accelerate theprocess for the development of disease resistant cultivars,it was consideredvery important to pay special attention to the following:1.There should be a clear-cut breeding objective.2.A disease nursery ensuring even and heavy infection should bemaintained.3.Special care should be taken in the selecton of parents and the makingof crosses.4.There should be a comparatively larger population to ensure theselection of the best types.5.The newly developed cultivars should be put into commercial use assoon as possible.

Big difference was found between the groups of resistant andsusceptible parent in their effects on the F_1 hybrids. With the estimatedgeneral combining abilities of the resistance in F_1 hybrids, we are ableto find out factors of resistance. 3. Expression of disease resistance in depends on three parameters:the general combining abilities of the resistant parent and the susceptibleparent, and the specific combining ability of the F_1 hybrid. 4. In upland cotton heritability of resistance to Verticillium wilt ishigher than that to fusarium wilt.

本文以6个抗病品种和6个染病品种为亲本,组成6×6不完全双列杂交,对其抗枯、黄萎病性状的配合力遗传力进行研究。结果表明:1.12个陆地棉品种抗枯、黄萎病性状,亲本抗病性的一般配合力均比它们的特殊配合力重要。2.一般配合力高的性状,反映了亲本基因的加性效应占的比重较大,可有效地传递给后代。3.在杂种一代上,抗病品种和染病品种两者之间的影响,有较大差异。4.抗黄萎病的遗传力较抗枯萎病的遗传力为高。目前国内有关棉花抗病育种单位,正在用陕401等品种作为抗源,因此,评定这些品种的优劣程度,对棉花抗病育种工作甚为必要。

The result of the study indicatr ted that the peroxidase activity, nucleic acid content and the resistance of cotton to verticillium wilt have a closed relationship. The nncleic acid content is higher and the peroxidase activity is lower in all highly resistant cotton and varieties, regardless of infection. On the contrary, the nucleic acid contaut is lower while the peroxidase acticity is higher in susceptidle varleties. The physiology of the host plant was disturbed in the primary period of infection...

The result of the study indicatr ted that the peroxidase activity, nucleic acid content and the resistance of cotton to verticillium wilt have a closed relationship. The nncleic acid content is higher and the peroxidase activity is lower in all highly resistant cotton and varieties, regardless of infection. On the contrary, the nucleic acid contaut is lower while the peroxidase acticity is higher in susceptidle varleties. The physiology of the host plant was disturbed in the primary period of infection and great changes have taken place in nuleic acid content and peroxidase activity.

棉花不同棉种和品种对黄萎病菌Verticillium dahlae、的抗性与叶片内过氧化物酶活性和核酸含量有密切关系,无论有无菌侵染,抗病性强的棉种和品种核酸含量均高,过氧化物酶活性均低,抗性弱的棉种和品种则相反。在病菌侵入初期寄主植物的生理代谢就受到干扰,叶片内过氧化物酶活性和核酸含量均出现明显变化。
