In the optic fiber sensor of the Mach-Zehnder interferometertype, usually, the interference fringes obtained directly are very closely spac-ed. To improve the precision of measurement, it is necessary to amplifythe fringe spacing (or displacement). One simple method is to reduce the spac-ing between the two optic fibers at the output end and to increase the ob-servation distance, but this method is restricted by the diameter of the opticfibers, the coherent length of the light source and the proper size of the sy-stem, so that the resultant amplification is usually insufficient. Another me-thod is to use high resolution TV cameras or CCD elements to obtain amplified interference fringes in TV screen, but the cost is high and the displace-ment veloctity of the fringes (corresponding to the rate of variation of thephysical quantity to be sensed) is limited by the band width of the TV sys-tem. The moire ftinge method is convenient and feasible, but its disadvantageis the presence of background interference, that is, besides the moire fringes,there exist also the original double grating structures. Morever, due to theexistence of the background fringes, the light field distribution of the moireftinges obtained directly is not strictly sinusoidal, and the contrast of thefringes is comparatively low, so that it is difficult to make precise measure-ments on the fringe displacements. This paper analyses theoretically the differences between the moire fring-es obtained by the ordinary double grating method and those obtained by themoire fringe method used for optic fiber sensor of the Mach-Zehnder interfe-rometer type to measure precisely the fringe displacements. Through analysis,the method for obtaining sinusoidal moire fringes without the interference ofbackground fringes and the means for improving the contrast of the moirefringes are given. To obtain the greatest contrast of the moire fringes, thetwo arms of the interferometer should have unequal light intensities. Exper-imental results confirm the correctness of the analysis.

本文从理论上分析了Mach-Zehnder干涉仪型光纤传感器中用莫尔条纹法精密测量条纹移动量时所形成的莫尔条纹与一般两光栅所形成的莫尔条纹间的区别,给出了获得无背景干扰的正弦形莫尔条纹的方法及改善莫尔条纹对比度的途径。分析表明,为使莫尔条纹有最佳对比度,干涉仪两臂应取不等光强。实验结果证实了分析的正确性。

This paper takes some examples to describe the developing levels of function, non-function and distribution optic fiber sensors. On the base of these facts,analysis of main trend of optic fiber sensing technology in next ten years is made. It is expected to be useful to the advance of optic fiber sensing technology of our country.

本文以实例说明了功能型、非功能型以及分布式光纤传感器的现阶段发展水平。并以此为基础,剖析了光纤传感技术在今后10年间的主要发展趋势,以期对我国光纤传感技术的发展有所裨益。

The optic heterodyne and conversion technology have teen studied. The results of heterodyne signal 50MHz,conversion range>50kHz and signal-noise ratio>45dB are realized.
