 Production functions and Leontief's inputoutput model serve as the theoretical foundation of theory for measuring technical progress. However, it holds only when they meet their respective economic assumptions, which results in the limited applicability of the method for measuring technical progress, and brings about a series of problems in practice. In this paper, with a comprehensive knowledge of technical economics, input  output theory, mineral engineering, applied mathematics and computer science... Production functions and Leontief's inputoutput model serve as the theoretical foundation of theory for measuring technical progress. However, it holds only when they meet their respective economic assumptions, which results in the limited applicability of the method for measuring technical progress, and brings about a series of problems in practice. In this paper, with a comprehensive knowledge of technical economics, input  output theory, mineral engineering, applied mathematics and computer science etc., the measuring of technical progress is studied from the point of profit optimization, and profit optimal model analysis method on technical progress (POMAMTP) is put forward. POMAMTP does not need any economic assumptionsYet, not only technical progress can be analyzed from total profit, all factors influencing technical progress can also be measured. Finally this is put into practice in Daye Nonferrous Metals Corp. OVOMATP has no economic hypothesis. Not only the technical progresses on total output can been measured,but aslo on all of factors which influencc the technical progresses.
