The simulation of Space heat flux is a very complicated and important problem in ground thermal testing of spacecraft. This paper briefly reviews the development of space incidence heat flux simulation, points the existing defficulties in using the traditional solar simulator, and proposes the IR heating simulation technique as a main testing mean for future large spacecraft. This paper also describes the principle of integral average method of orbital heat flux and extra IR heating simulation technique suggested by author in 1960's, and proposes some problems for further study.

This paper is concerned with a new attempt at killing noxious insects in bamboo articles by the far-IR heating technique. As articles made of bamboo are usually of considerable thickness, the "non-matched absorption" scheme was introduced. Practice shows that this method is highly efficient for killing insects without harmful side effects and can reduce production cost.
