This paper presents the process of stress determination for annular BOPs, including the strain-guaging technique under high hydraulic pressure. Then the stress distribution on both inner and outer wall of the BOP body is investigated. In addition, the author makes a comparison between the mechanical strength of BOPs of two different structural patterns and explains the influence of material and technology on the mechanical strength of annular BOPs.

Comparing the characteristics of the fluid mediums between air and liquid state, the pneumatic-hydraulic brake system is put forward. In view of our existing system, we design the structure model of related valve, proving the effect in which the high hydraulic pressure could improve the miniaturization of this structure.
