A feature model is represented in hierarchy of description and data to meet the needs of natural and intelligent environment or design. The description is based on constraints and called constraint model, which is defined by the features that satisfy a definite constraint set. And, the data is called data model, which can be generated by the conversion of the constraint model automatically. To manage the constraint model, a hierarchical Feature Relationship Graph (abbreviated to FRG) is established, in which a node represents a feature, and a directed arc (from the subfeature to its primary feature) constrains relations between features. Taxonmy of constraints is also proposed, including constraints in position relations between features (glue, intersection and separation) and attribute dependency (existence dependency N, topology dependency M, size dependency S and positioning dependency P).

It is necessary to study on principles of Agent and lay a solid theoretical foundation on establishing computer-aided distributed intelligent environment for product collaborative design and development. The paper discusses the concept of Agent in the first section. Then based on object-oriented paradigm of analysis, design and realization on software system, the agent-oriented method is proposed in order to implementing multi-agent system in engineering applications.

Based on AutoCAD, the program of intelligent environment to build locomotive electrical component library was developed by using the technology of ObjectARX in Visual C++. It has some functions such as adding attribute data to component block, changing menu file automatically, outputting various data, and generating report forms and component wiring diagrams. With the environment, the integrative locomotive electrical system design can be realized.

利用ObjectARX工具 ,基于AutoCAD平台进行了二次开发 ,建立了机车电气元件的智能建库环境。具有对入库的元件添加属性数据 ,程序自动修改菜单文件等功能 ;进而可以进行后续的输出各种数据、生成报表及元件配线图等工作 ,实现机车电气系统设计的一体化。
