However, for keeping local balance of the dispersion and the self phase modulation, the group dispersion of the decreasing dispersion fiber in which sub picosecond solitons propagate should be modified as a result of the combined action of Raman self frequency shift and the third order dispersion. The group dispersion of the decreasing dispersion fiber has been adjusted and the propagation of sub picosecond solitons through a decreasing dispersion fiber has been investigated by solving numerically the generalized nonlinear Schrdinger equation. The results of the numerical simulation are consistent with theory.

当皮秒孤子在群色散指数衰减的色散渐变光纤中传输时 ,孤子的群色散和自相位调制保持局域平衡 ,宽度可以保持不变。但对亚皮秒孤子 ,由于受拉曼自频移效应和三阶色散效应的共同影响 ,要想继续保持群色散与自相位调制的局域平衡 ,光纤的群色散分布应加以修正。对传输亚皮秒孤子的色散渐变光纤的群色散分布加以修正、讨论并对亚皮秒孤子的传输情况进行了数值模拟。模拟结果与理论一致。

Modulation instability resulted from cross phase modulation(XPM) in decreasing dispersion fiber(DDF) is presented from nonlinear Schrodinger equation.The gain spectrums as a function of incident power P 1/P 2 and axilly varying dispersion parameter are given respectively.The results show that the spectrum width in anomalous dispersion regime is larger than that of normal dispersion regime,whats more,the gain peak value is also larger.The ratio of the gain spectrum width in DDF and in common fiber increases as exponential function with the product of axilly varying dispersion parameter and propagation distance.The DDF in anomalous dispersion regime is a good kind of fiber to produce modulation instability.

从非线性薛定谔方程出发得到了色散缓变光纤 (DDF)中交叉相位调制 (XPM)不稳定增益谱。研究了增益谱随入纤功率及光纤纵向色散参量的变化关系。结果表明 :反常色散区的增益谱宽比正常色散区宽 ,且峰值增益高 ;DDF中 XPM不稳定增益谱宽比常规光纤的宽 ,二者的比值随传输距离与光纤色散参量的乘积成指数增长 ;DDF的反常色散区是产生调制不稳定的较好的色散介质
