AIM:To study the working stress of young college teachers by test,and analyze the differences between different gender, age,rank of position and different sub jects. METHODS:The subjects were 194 qualified on the job teachers(93 males and 101 females),who were appointed,in Shaanxi Normal University in 2001.Among them,49 were under 30 years old,145 aged 30 to 39 years;112 majored in liberal arts and 82 majored in science;123 were in common position and 71 were in important posit ion.They were tested by using...

AIM:To study the working stress of young college teachers by test,and analyze the differences between different gender, age,rank of position and different sub jects. METHODS:The subjects were 194 qualified on the job teachers(93 males and 101 females),who were appointed,in Shaanxi Normal University in 2001.Among them,49 were under 30 years old,145 aged 30 to 39 years;112 majored in liberal arts and 82 majored in science;123 were in common position and 71 were in important posit ion.They were tested by using the self revised working stress scale,and then th e data were analyzed by SPSS 10.0.The scores of 0 to 4 were considered as lower, 5 to 8 as moderate and 9 to 13 as higher. RESULTS:Among the 194 tested young teachers,the scores of working stress range d from 2.55 to 11.08,with an average of(6.89±1.46).The general level of working stress was lower in female teachers(-0.14±0.93) than in male teachers(7.11±1 .54) (P< 0.05).The general level of working stress in the above 30 years old gro up(6.95±1.45) was insignificantly higher than hat in the under 30 years old gro up(6.70±1.51),it was also not significantly higher in those in important positi on(6.99±1.43) than those in common position(6.83±1.48).The general level of wo rking stress was insignificantly higher in the teachers majored in liberal arts( 7.04±1.19) than in those majored in science(6.75±1.65). CONCLUSION:The general level of working stress in the young college teachers i s moderate.The working stress is too much for most of the young teachers,and the working stress has a significant gender difference in college young teachers.

In recent years,a lot of investigations and tests demonstrate the worrying condition of our teachers' psychological well-being.The psychological pressure imposed on particularly the college young teachers is too big to be ignored and too heavy to help them grow healthily.Therefore,to be concerned for the psychological well-being of the college young teachers and to take appropriate measures to rid them of their psychological pressure are the inevitable demand of the sustainable development of higher education.

近年来,许多调查检测都显示我国教师的心理健康状况不容乐观。尤其在高校青年教师中,存在着不容忽视的心理压力,严重地制约着他们的健康成长。关注高校青年教师的心理健康,有针对性地采取有效措施,消除其心理压力,是促进高等教育可持续发展的必然要求。
