A study is made of the synergistic effect of inhibitor of two compositions on the HSAB principle. Experiment results show that the synergistic effect of some complex inhibitors is due to the fairly satisfactory matched relation between the organic inhibitors and the protected metals from the HSAB point of view. To repeat, the better the matched relation, the higher the inhibiting efficiency of the inhibitor. This is what we call "hard-soft matched synergistic effect" which has not yet been found in relevant...

Recent studies of the inhibitors and inhibition mechanism of stress Corrosion cracking (SCC) on austenitie stainless steel in chloride solutions was reviewed, involving various kinds of both inorganic and organic inhibitors. The future tendency of SCC inhibitor investigation and possible development of new inhibitors were also discussed.
