Biomechanics is a new developing subject formed by some subjects interfusing. It has only appeared for twenties in China. Biomechanics of solids is a main branch of biomechan-ics. In this paper, the history and developing tendency of biomechanics of solids (including bone mechanics, soft tissue mechanics and organ mechanics)will be described.
