Anarerobic treatments of kenaf core alkaline peroxide mechanical pulping(APMP)wastewater using a UASB-reactor were investigated. At the temperature of 35~38℃,it is found that 80%-86% of influent COD and 92%-96% of BOD5 were removed with a COD loading rate of 12~18kgCOD/m3 ·d and influent concentrations of 4000-5500 mg/L. The biogas yield was about 0. 55m3/kg removed COD. The granular sludge developed is with a very good settlement character.
