In order to find out a suitable growth regulator in preventing flower drop of tomatoes, several phenoxy compounds were tested in the vegetable experiment farm of the University, Hangzhou, Zhejiang.The growth regulators herein used included 2,4-D (2,4-dichlorophenoxya-cetic acid), 2M-4X, ( 2-methyl, 4-chlorophenoxyacetic acid); PCPA, (par-achlorophenoxyacetic acid); 2,4,5-T, (2,4,5-trichlorophenoxyacetic acid) and 4-iodo-phenoxyacetic acid). Among which, 2,4-D and PCPA were found to be much better than the others.Because of the deformative effects of 2,4-D on the young leaves and shoots, it can only be used by dipping the flowers into the solution individually. Whereas PCPA can be used by spraying to the flower clusters and ensures a good set of fruit, for its less injury to the young tissues. The early yield was thus increased remarkably.The relationship between the treatment of growth regalators and the formation of "cat-faced" fruits was discussed.

The unique properties of the toxic principles of toosendanin as an antifeedant, systemic and stomach poison as well as insect growth regulators, local availability, safe to the environment and com, patibility with the agroecosystem emphasize its ample potential in insect pest management system.

本文对川楝素的来源、发现、提制、生产、应用及药理、毒理、毒性等方面的研究历史、现状及展望作了简单叙述。旨在讨论进一步研究这一天然化合物的重要意义。特别是通过对川楝素在医学上的药理、毒性等方面研究成果的回顾、总结,而为深入研究其在害虫防治方面的作用机制及应用措施提供依据、寻找线索、开创思路。

A comparison was made between NS-83 and Naphthyl acetic acid,Gibb-erellic acid and Kinetin in several bioassays on their physiological effects.,It was demonstrated that NS-83 has some physiological functions same as th-ose of auxin,gibberellin and cytokinin,however it is not identical to anyoneof them.A new kind of plant growth regulator may exist in NS-83 and itneed further analysis.The function of the related physiological activities sofar induced to the virus tolerance of some plants is discussed.
