在分析固沙林经营目的的基础上,提出了该林种的防护成熟定义,用郁闭度(覆盖度)达到π4为成熟的主要特征,通过冠幅与胸径、胸径与年龄的关系确定防护成熟龄;此外以初始成熟龄和更新龄为时间界限将林分分成3个经营时期:郁闭前期、防护成熟期和更新期,并提出了各个时期相应的经营对策。
