In the paper, taking the Luquan earthquake occurring on 18 April 1985 as an example, the variations of α values the attenuation coefficient in the seismic wave predominent frequency before strong earthquakes are studied by different methods of fitness. As a result, we found a trend variation of α values obtained by single station and single event, but the errors are larger. On the other hand, a significantly characteristic variation of α valuse obtained by single station and three events occurred, and the errors are smaller. At the same time, the varying characters of α values obtained by two stations and single event are very outstanding. Iwo years before the Luquan earthquake of M6.1, α values became decreasing and remained at low degrees for periods. The average amount of α decrease is about 40-60% of the normal value, and the maximum reached about 60-80% of the normal value. This shows that an earthquake may be predicted by making use of the variations of the frequency attenuation coefficient if the available data are properly processed.

本文以1985年4月18日云南禄劝地震为例,用不同拟合法探讨了地震波卓越频率衰减系数α值在大地震前后的特征变化。结果发现:单台单震拟合的α值有趋势变化,但误差范围较大。而单台三震拟合的α值有明显的特征变化,并且误差范围显著减小。同时单震双台拟合的α值的变化特征也相当突出。它们均在禄劝6.1级地震前约2年,α值开始下降并有持续低值阶段。平均下降幅度约为正常值的40%到60%,最大下降幅度约60%到80%。这表明,经过适当处理,是可以根据频率衰减系数的变化来预报地震的。

In this paper, varlational characteristics of acoustic emission under biaxial and triaxial compressions up to rupture have been described. If loading rates are definite and rock specimen yields an abrupt rupture occuring after precursory stress drop has appeared, AE (standing for acoustic emission) attenuation coefficient hε varying with strain prior to main rupture, will show stable-dropping rising trend variations. However, the increasing coefficients h1, h2 of the AE event total number varying with strain, will indicate stable-rising-dropping trend variations. And the AE rate n will also show stable-rising-dropping trend vari ations. Whereas if rock specimen yields and creeping slippage rupture takes place after the precursory stress drop has taken place, he, h2 will vary as the preceding variations do, while h1 and the AE rate n will show stable-rising, and then, remaining high (level) values, will not drop. Furthermore, if rigidity of compressor in the direction of σ3 is greater than a definite value, creeping slippage rupture will occur; yet if the rigidity of compressor is less than a definite value, abrupt rupture will take place, which has been preliminarily discussed. This presents a possible physio basis for earthquake prediction by application of seismic frequency variations'There is nothing new by attempting to use seismic frequency variations for earthquake prediction. The corrresponding research of rock AE has been emerging one after another. Among them. direct research on variations of frequency, en attenuation coefficients of aftershock frequency, or on increasing coefficients of frequency with strain, have been studied,This later one is more general [1-3]. We once pointed out respctively that the loadiug rate, deformation form and material property etc, under uniaxial experiment, exert influence on the variation characteristics of ihe AE attenuation coefficient hε, and of the AE increasing coefficients h1, h2 [4-5]. Now, we will describe triaxial and biaxial experimental results as follows.

本文叙述大理岩岩样在双轴、三轴压缩至断裂时的声发射变化特征。在一定的加载速率时,若岩样屈服并在出现前兆应力降后产生突发断裂,声发射率随应变的衰减系数h_ε,在主断裂前呈现平稳—下降—回升趋势变化,而声发射事件总数随应变的增长系数h_1、h_2都呈现平稳—上升—回降趋势变化。声发射率,n也呈现平稳—上升—回降趋势变化。而当岩样屈服,并在出现前兆应力降后产生蠕滑断裂,h_εh_2依然与前述变化相同。而h_1,和声发射率n则为平稳—上升而后保持在高(水平)值上并不回降,并且初步论述了O_3,方向压机刚度在大于某一定值时,发生蠕滑断裂,在小于某一定值时,才发生突发断裂。这就为利用地震频度的变化预报地震提供了一种可能的物理依据。
