This paper presents an improved universal Tabu search algorithm which is suited to the continuous variables global optimization based on the well analyzed Tabu search algorithm of combined optimization problem.The feasibility and practicability are verified by the application to the optimization of mathematical example and the shield geometry shape of the circuit breaker.
